The Yoshimoto Kogyo Group aims to realize a society full of “smiles” and “laughter,” and is working hard to provide “laughter”-based, high quality entertainment to our customers. We would like to carefully and properly use the personal information we receive from our customers to achieve our corporate philosophy. The Yoshimoto Kogyo Group has set forth the following Privacy Policy, as well as established personal information protection regulations and other internal policies. We have also established an internal system for personal information protection, which includes sufficiently training our officers and employees regarding the laws, regulations, and aforementioned internal policies, and will do our best to properly handle our customers’ personal information.

1. Applicable scope

This Privacy Policy applies to all of the services of the Yoshimoto Kogyo Group (the “Company Group”; for details, please refer to http://www.yoshimoto.co.jp/corp/info/group.html), unless an independent privacy policy has already been provided by a Company Group company.

2. Personal information of our customers

Personal information means the name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, individual identification number for mobile phones (UID), member ID, and other information concerning an individual, with which, or in combination with other information, the individual customer can be identified.

3. Acquisition of personal information

Our customers’ personal information will be acquired by lawful and fair means.

4.Collection of Cookies

Cookies are collected on this site for the purposes of improving the quality of services provided to the customer and enhancing the customer’s accessibility. Cookies mean the access log data and activity log data (not including personal information) on the site. Although the cookies that are directly collected by the Company from the customer are not collected as personal data, the Company may receive the customer’s cookies from third-party service providers, link such cookies with the personal information collected from the customers, and manage and use them for the aforementioned purposes. When using the site, the customer shall use the site upon consenting in advance to the Company linking the customer’s cookies received from third-party service providers with the personal information collected from the customer and managing and using them.

5.Purposes of Use of Personal Information

The customer’s personal information will be collected and used for the following purposes:

  • To provide information concerning talents affiliated with the Company Group;
  • To provide information concerning programs, various events, performances, lives, campaigns and other events in connection with the Company Group;
  • To provide ticket sales services for theater and performances, and to send tickets;
  • To provide sales services for products, DVDs, CDs and other goods in connection with the Company Group and talents affiliated with the Company Group;
  • To carry out questionnaires intended to improve the quality of services handled by the Company Group and to request cooperation for group interviews;
  • If there is a need to verify the identity of the user or identify the individual user such as with the logging in to the member services provided by the Group Company;
  • To provide services or conduct communications incidental to or in connection with (a) to (f) above;
  • To respond to inquiries and requests from the customer;
  • To improve the quality of products, services etc. provided by the Group Company;
  • For marketing and research related to products, services etc. provided by the Group Company; and
  • For other specific purposes which will be explained when the personal information is collected.

The purposes for which the Group Company creates and uses pseudonymised information (information obtained by processing personal information in such a way that a specific individual cannot be identified unless it is compared with other information, by preparing the information in accordance with the standards prescribed by laws and regulations, such as deletion of descriptions contained in personal information and deletion of all personal identification codes) are as follows:

  • To improve the quality of products, services etc. provided by the Group Company; and
  • For marketing and research related to products, services etc. provided by the Group Company.

6.Management of Personal Information

The Company Group will place a personal information manager for each department that provides the various services and products and handles personal information, will properly and safely manage the collected personal information, and pay utmost care to prevent the divulgence, loss, or alteration thereof. In addition, personal information for which the period required to achieve the purposes of use has passed will be disposed by a proper method.

7.Disclosure and Provision to Third Parties

The Company Group will not disclose or provide the customer’s personal information unless any of the below applies:

  • If prior consent or approval from the customer is received;
  • If disclosure is required under the laws and regulations;
  • If it is required to protect the life, body or property of a person and is difficult to obtain the customer’s consent;
  • If it is required for improving public health or advancing the sound development of children and is difficult to obtain the customer’s consent;
  • If cooperation is required for the state or local government to perform public affairs and there will be a likelihood of causing an obstruction to the performance of such affairs by obtaining the customer’s consent;
  • In the case of joint use in a joint business with a third party upon advance notification thereof;
  • If the handling of personal information will be entrusted to a third party, in whole or in part, to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use listed in Section 5;
  • If the following is notified to the customer or is placed where the customer can be informed thereof in advance: (1) that the provision to a third party will be a purpose of use, (2) the items of personal information that will be provided to the third party, (3) the means or method of the provision to the third party, (4) that the provision of personal information to a third party will be terminated upon the individual’s request, (5) the name, address and representative of the personal information handling service provider that will provide the personal information to third parties, (6) how the personal information that will be provided to third parties will be collected, (7) how the personal information to be provided to third parties will be renewed, and (8) the scheduled date of when the personal information will be start to be provided to third parties; or
  • If the personal information will be provided in connection with a merger or a succession of business due to another reason.

8.Disclosure, Revision, Deletion, Addition, Suspension of Use and Removal

If there is a request from the customer by a method designated by the customer to (1) disclose, (2) revise, add or delete, (3) suspend the use of, remove, or suspend the provision to third parties, or (4) disclose the notification of purposes of use and third party-provided records (collectively, the “Disclosure”), with respect to the retained personal data of the Company Group (personal data that the Company Group has authority to disclose, revise, delete, add, suspend the use of and remove), the following actions will be taken to the reasonable period and extent, upon verifying that the requestor is the individual. However, there may be instances where the request cannot be complied with if there is the likelihood of harming the life, body or property of the individual or a third party, if there is the likelihood of causing a material effect on the execution of business of the Company Group, or if it will otherwise violate a law or regulation:

  • We will respond to the request for disclosure of retained personal data and third party-provided records;
  • For revisions, additions or deletions of retained personal data, we will respond to the request as necessary after confirming the contents of the request;
  • Use will be suspended, removal will be made, or provision to third parties will be suspended of retained personal data. However, please make the request by being advised that the services provided by the Company Group may no longer be provided in connection with such suspension of use, removal, or suspension of provision to third parties; and
  • We will respond to notification requests for the purposes of use of the retained personal data.

The request in the preceding section concerning the Company Group’s retained personal data, third party-provided records and other inquiries concerning personal information will be made as follows. A copy of two or more of the following: a driver’s license, passport, personal number card, health insurance card, basic resident register card with photograph, pension book, physical disability book, or alien registration card

  • Power of attorney (in the case of a legal representative, a document that certifies that the person is a legal representative (e.g., a copy of the family register))
  • Document for verifying the identity of the agent (a copy of two or more of the following: a driver’s license, passport, personal number card, health insurance card, basic resident register card with photograph, pension book, physical disability book, or alien registration card)

*Note regarding procedures concerning requests for the Disclosure

Please send the documents required for the procedures to the Personal Information Contact for Inquiries by postal mail. Please be advised that the documents cannot be accepted at the theaters, shops and other non-designated locations of the Company Group. Fees for mailing the documents will be borne by the requestor. The results of the response to the request will be notified by the Company Group either by a provision of electromagnetic records by attachment to an email or by postal mail, as requested by the individual. If a written response by postal mail is requested, please enclose a 94 yen stamp for the response together with the required documents. Please be advised that we will not be able to comply with your request if the individual’s identity cannot be verified, the qualification of the agent cannot be certified, or the identity of the agent cannot be verified. Please also be advised that we will not be able to respond to your request if there are omissions in the required matters or the required documents are not attached. The documents that are obtained in relation to the request for the Disclosure will be used solely to the extent required to respond to the request, and will be disposed of within one (1) month after the conclusion of our response. If the Disclosure cannot be made, we will notify you thereof and the reason therefor.
Disclosure fees
The fee for each request for the disclosure of notification of purposes of use, disclosure, or records of provision to third parties of the retained personal data is 500 yen.
If other fees will be incurred for the Disclosure other than the above, they may be separately billed.

10.Joint Use

11.Application and Amendment of the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains the handling of the customer’s personal information by the Company Group, and the customer who provides personal information in connection with the services and products provided by the Company Group will be deemed to have fully understood and agreed to the contents of this Privacy Policy. Furthermore, the Company Group may amend this Privacy Policy as necessary.
